BA is cutting the price of business travel by up to 40%

This week saw British Airways release their latest accounts with a devastating loss of £400 million.

In an attempt to encourage people to travel business class they have announced that they will be slashing their prices by up to 40 per cent.

Business travel has fallen by 18 per cent in April, after a fall in March of 13 per cent.

Travellers can take advantage of this new pricing by pre booking their flights before June 30th. An example of the savings available includes business class flights to New York from £1099 previously costing £2097 (a saving of £998). In addition to the low cost flights passengers can take advantage of the airport lounge at Heathrow and JFK. In a week when the International Air Transport Association (IATA) said that year on year premium passenger numbers had fallen by 19.2 per cent globally.

However BA reported that its total traffic rose by 0.9 per year on year and in April flew more than 2.8 million passengers.
