Four new hotels are to be built at three of the UK’s busiest airports. The hotels will be part of the Premier Inn group owned by Whitbread. Surinder Arora has agreed on a deal worth £125 million with Whitbread to construct the new hotels at Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted Airports. The hotels will provide hospitality jobs to the south east and add an extra accommodation capacity of 1,570.

The open date set for the hotels is during 2011. Mr Arora said “We are delighted to have reached this landmark agreement with Premier Inn which very much compliments our existing Arora Hotels portfolio and presence at Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted airports.

The agreements are based on the successful application for planning approval and other consents. The hotels will be opened phase by phase and will be situated at Heathrow Terminal 4 & 5 with a total of 640 bedrooms. Another will be at Stansted Airport with 300 bedroom and a further 630 bedroom will be located at Gatwick’s North Terminal. The Commercial and property director at Whitbread said The success of the budget airlines has shown that there is an increasing demand for low cost travel and that includes accommodation”.
