Heathrow Airport is running an exhibition of UK fashion designers.

Heathrow Airport is holding an exhibition to showcase the work of up-and-coming British fashion designers. Launched to celebrate London Fashion Week, the exhibition run by the British Fashion Council will be open from 13 September until 10 October. The exhibition is in Heathrow Terminal 5’s expo gallery.

Eight British designers plus design teams were chosen to appear in the exhibition. They are Peter Pilotto, Mark Fast, Holly Fulton, Mary Katrantzou, Louise Gray, Meadham Kirchhoff, David Koma and Michael van der Ham. All have received the NEWGEN. The first scheme in the world that supports emerging design talent, the NEWGEN was launched in 1993 by the British Fashion Council.

The work of each designer will be explored through eight large, elevated photographs shot by Catwalking. In addition, two fashion outfits produced by Mary Katrantzou and Holly Fulton will be on display. A large plasma television will also feature the autumn/winter 2010 collections of the designers.

Heathrow Airport said the exhibition coincides with the recent arrival at the airport of the new season’s fashion. The airport operator highlighted the savings on big fashion names available to passengers shopping in the airport.
